Best yoga studio software and best yoga software: memberships, passes and the drop-in

A yoga studio sells the same class three ways on the same day: to a member on an unlimited plan, to somebody drawing down a ten-class pack, and to a drop-in paying at the door. Everything difficult about studio software comes from holding those three together, on a waitlist, with a teacher who needs to know who is in the room and a payment that has to reconcile at the end of the month. Score that and most of the shortlist answers itself.

Products yoga studios commonly shortlist, and what to make each one show you

Not a ranking. Siftvo publishes no score of its own and no vendor pays to be named here. The order is alphabetical and the line after each name is the thing to make that vendor show you in a demo, scored on your own sheet.

  1. Mindbody: large marketplace attached: ask the per-booking marketplace charge and whether it can be switched off
  2. Momence: streaming and on demand built in: ask how a pack can be spent on a recording and where the video lives
  3. Punchpass: small-studio focus with published pricing: fill one class from a member, a pack and a drop-in
  4. WellnessLiving: wide feature surface: ask what happens on a freeze, an expiring pack and a failed card

The three payment shapes, at once

Ask to see one class filled from all three: a member, a pack holder and a drop-in, with a waitlist that promotes automatically when somebody cancels. Then ask what happens when a member freezes, when a pack expires with classes left, and when a card fails on renewal day. These are the operations a studio does every week and they are where products differ most, well below the level of any feature list.

The teacher and the room

What the teacher sees on arrival, whether they can mark attendance from a phone, and how their pay is calculated when it depends on headcount. A studio where teachers are paid per head needs the attendance record and the pay run to be the same data. If they are not, somebody is retyping it every fortnight, and that is a permanent cost that never appears in the quote.

Online, on demand and the second revenue line

If you stream or sell recordings, ask how that is entitled: whether an unlimited member gets it, whether a pack can be spent on it, and where the video actually lives. Studios frequently buy a second product for this and then discover two customer lists and two payment systems. Put it on the sheet as a row now rather than solving it twice.

Questions people ask about best yoga studio software

Do we need a marketplace listing?

It brings new students and charges per booking, and some of those students would have found you anyway. Ask the per-booking cost, whether it can be turned off, and what happens to those students if you leave.

What usually goes wrong at migration?

Active memberships and part-used packs. Ask exactly how existing plans, remaining credits and stored cards are moved, and get the answer in writing before you sign.

Is there a best yoga studio system?

Not one we will name, because we publish no ranking and no vendor score. Score the products you are looking at on your own three payment shapes.
