Nothing on this page is a market rate. The figures come from the numbers you type into the worksheet and the arithmetic printed next to each answer, and the worked example is there so the page is not blank before you start. Where a page cites a rule or a certification programme, the link goes to the document itself rather than to a summary of it.
The figures above start from a worked example (240). Put your own seats, quotes and must-haves in and every answer moves as you type.

This is the sheet the decision is actually made on. Put in how many vendors you are looking at, how many must-haves and nice-to-haves you have written down, and how many people will score it, and the worksheet tells you how big the job is: the number of scores the sheet will ask for, the rows it will run to, the weighting points to share out, the demo time your must-haves alone need, and the score a vendor has to beat to stay on the shortlist. Nothing here is a vendor rating. Every figure is your own input or arithmetic printed beside it, and no vendor appears in it unless you put them there.

What an owner asks before filling in the EHR software comparison sheet
Why does the sheet count scores rather than give me one? Because the score belongs to your weighting, not to us. What the worksheet does is size the job honestly, so you find out that four vendors and twenty requirements is 240 judgements before you have booked six demos you cannot fit in.
What is the walk-away score for? It is twice the points a vendor could score on your must-haves at the middle of the scale. A vendor below it has failed on the things you said you would not trade, and carrying it further wastes a demo slot.
Can I keep the filled-in sheet? Filling it in and printing it is free and needs no account. Siftvo Pro keeps it against the decision and the vendor it belongs to, with the quote, the demo and the reason a vendor was ruled out, and exports the lot whenever you want it.
