Best EMR for IV therapy: consents, dosing and the membership that pays for it

An IV hydration or vitamin therapy clinic is a clinical service with a retail business model, and the record has to hold both. On one side there is a good-faith examination, a consent, a prescribed formulation, a lot number and an administration record. On the other there is a membership, a package of visits, a mobile appointment at somebody's house and a card on file. Products that do the first tend to be weak at the second, and the sheet has to weight both.

Systems IV therapy and med spa clinics commonly shortlist, and what to make each show you

Not a ranking. Siftvo publishes no score of its own and no vendor pays to be named here. The order is alphabetical and the line after each name is the thing to make that vendor show you in a demo, scored on your own sheet.

  1. Jane: clinic-shaped with published pricing: ask what a membership and a drawn-down package look like, since that is the weaker half here
  2. Nextech: aesthetics heritage with a clinical record: ask to see consent, lot number and administration captured at the chair
  3. PatientNow: built for med spa retail: score the clinical block hard, since retail is the half it is known for
  4. Symplast: mobile-first: create, document and charge a home visit on a phone in the demo

The clinical record you will be asked for

A documented good-faith examination by whoever your state requires, the standing order or prescription behind the formulation, consent for the specific infusion, the lot and expiry of what was hung, and an administration note with times and any reaction. Ask to see all of that captured in one visit on a tablet, at a chair, by the nurse who will actually do it. If any part of it lives outside the record, it will be missing when somebody asks for it.

Memberships and packages are where the money is

Monthly memberships that include a fixed number of infusions, packages bought up front and drawn down, add-ons priced separately, and a card on file that renews. Ask what happens when a member does not attend, when a package expires, and when a card fails. These are ordinary retail problems the clinical products handle badly and the spa products handle well, and they decide your revenue more than the charting does.

Mobile and multi-site work

If you deliver at homes, hotels or offices, the record has to work offline, capture consent on a phone, and reconcile stock that left the clinic in a bag. Ask to see a mobile visit created, documented and charged without a desk. This is the requirement most likely to rule out an otherwise good product, so it goes high on the sheet if mobile is a real part of your business.

Questions people ask about best emr for iv therapy

Do we need a medical record or a spa system?

Both halves, which usually means an aesthetics or med spa product with a real clinical record rather than a general ambulatory EMR. Weight the clinical block and the membership block separately and expect no product to win both outright.

What about state rules on the good-faith examination?

They differ by state and they are a matter for your medical director and your own counsel, not for a software feature. What the software must do is record whatever your state requires, reliably, against the visit.

Do you recommend a product for IV therapy?

No. We publish no ranking and no vendor score. Put the products you are considering on the sheet, weight the two blocks, and score them yourself.
